The Devold Expedition Arctic Hoodie for women is a two-layer merino functional underwear for harsh winter conditions. The inside is made of 18.7 micron fine merino fabric, while the outside is reinforced with 10% polyamide fibers for greater durability and is also treated to be water-repellent. This material combination has already proven itself on several polar expeditions supported by Devold. The reinforced outside and a seamless shoulder section are optimized for carrying a backpack and a long cut prevents cold bridges in the transition to the pants. Thumb loops also prevent snow and wind from penetrating the sleeve. The hood is also a balaclava and has breathing holes in the mouth area. The merino wool prevents cooling due to condensation that occurs when breathing out. The mouthpiece can also be pulled under the chin thanks to the overlapping construction when the oxygen requirement increases during high exertion. The hood can also be easily pulled down to the back and acts as a high warm collar. Hands can be quickly warmed up in the integrated belly pocket.
