The Hike+ Light Crew Men's Merino hiking socks from Icebreaker meet all the criteria required for year-round hiking, namely comfort, fit, durability, and breathability. This is ensured by features such as support zones in the Achilles and instep areas, an asymmetrical toe box for an optimal fit, and a specially designed toe seam that prevents blistering. Medium-weight, strategically placed cushioning zones prevent pressure points. Merino socks provide a dry feeling, especially when used with waterproof hiking boots, as the wool can absorb a lot of moisture. The less softened skin is thus much better protected against blistering! This property is particularly important because the membrane pores of waterproof shoes quickly become clogged, as shoes cannot be washed like membrane clothing to clear the pores again.
