What do the different textile labels mean?
Discover the world of merino apparel, known not only for its exceptional quality but also for its environmentally friendly and socially responsible manufacturing processes. Our brands carry renowned textile labels such as OekoTex® Standard 100, bluesign®, and the Responsible Wool Standard, guaranteeing the highest standards for health, environment, and fair working conditions. In our guide, we explain the meaning of these labels.

OekoTex® Standard100
OekoTex® Standard100 is one of the world's best-known labels for tested textiles free from harmful substances, based in Switzerland. It sets strict standards for textile safety. Every tested article has passed the relevant laboratory tests and is classified as harmless to human health.
Textiles are tested for over 1000 harmful substances, including even sewing threads and buttons. The more intense the skin contact of the textile, the stricter the criteria. For underwear, therefore, the second-highest safety standards apply, after baby clothing. The test criteria and limit values are updated at least once a year and are binding worldwide.
The validity of a product's OekoTex® label can be checked at any time using the QR code or the label number.
Some of the brands listed with us have the OekoTex® Standard100 certification for all products, e.g., Aclima, Devold, Woolpower, Pally‘Hi…
Many of our brands also source their wool yarns from the German Südwolle Group, which is certified with this label (Aclima, Engel, Mons Royale, Kari Traa,…)
