The Ortovox Swisswool Piz Duan Jacket for women is a particularly lightweight and highly compressible insulation jacket with the warmth power of a natural wool filling, thanks to its thin and elastic TEC-Stretch outer fabric. In terms of warmth-to-weight ratio, the jacket outperforms any comparably thick synthetic fiber insulation. In contrast to down, the Swisswool insulation also wicks away moisture and dries quickly. Furthermore, the wool filling neutralizes odors and ensures temperature regulation in both directions. It is thus a multi-talented jacket and covers a wide range of uses, both as a warming midlayer and as a wind jacket in the outer layer.
The Swisswool insulation is made from fair-trade Swiss mountain sheep wool. A bio-based synthetic fiber (polyactide) made from corn stabilizes the layered structure of the wool insulation and ensures shape retention even after washing.
