These extremely warm long merino base layer pants for women are double-sided and can be reversed to a smooth or ribbed side depending on temperature and activity level. With a fabric weight of 400g/m², the Aclima Streamwool Longs clearly fall into the "extreme weather conditions" category and provide powerful warmth as a thick first layer. The leggings are therefore not only suitable for winter sports in double-digit sub-zero temperatures but are also the first choice for professional outdoor use, as they maintain excellent warmth even during periods of inactivity.
With the ribbed side turned inwards, additional warming air pockets are created, achieving maximum thermal efficiency. During greater physical exertion, however, the ribbed side is turned outwards, creating a larger surface area and thus a wicking effect for sweat (capillary effect). A thinner and smooth insert in the crotch prevents chafing.
